Ursa Wayfinders was born from a longing: to create a lantern for those standing at life’s crossroads. We saw students weighed down by expectations, families unsure of how to guide without pressing too hard, and too many dreams dimmed before they ever had a chance to shine.
We wanted to weave something different: an offering that blended the grounded clarity of maps with the mystical wonder of the stars. Not just a program, but a constellation of tools, stories, and guides to remind every traveler that they are never truly lost.
And in searching for that symbol, we lifted our eyes to the sky.
Long ago, the Great Bear roamed the earth. Her name was Callisto, a companion of the goddess Artemis. Betrayed and transformed, she wandered the forest in the shape of a bear, hunted and forgotten. One day her son, Arcas, nearly struck her down, not knowing the beast was his mother.
The gods intervened. To protect them both, Zeus swept Callisto and her child into the heavens, where they could never be parted again. There they remain, mother and son, as Ursa Major and Ursa Minor—the Great Bear and the Little Bear.
For thousands of years, travelers have followed these constellations to find the North Star. When sailors were lost at sea, when wanderers sought their way across deserts and forests, it was the Bears that guided them home.
At Ursa Wayfinders, we carry this myth forward:
Together, they form a living constellation—illuminating the path, restoring courage, and reminding us all that no journey is made alone.
